No matter the reason for it, working from home is incredible!

You're in your comfort zone making money, what's not to love about that?

That's exactly what I thought in 2022 when I first began working from home.

It was incredible!

Don't get me wrong, it still is, but that feeling of freedom is like nothing else.

I don't know about you, but my problems started because of how comfortable I felt at home.

There are distractions everywhere!

And because I didn't have scheduled breaks throughout my work day, I was constantly distracted.

But then another problem came up.

When I did concentrate on my work, I would go until exhaustion leading to myself nearly being burnt out.

And yet with one routine, I not only became more productive, but my business began growing like crazy!

Work From Home Routine

While reading this, remember that this routine works best for me and my lifestyle.

If you have other responsibilities that need your time, your routine may look different from mine.

And make sure you're doing what works best for you!

If you need longer breaks than me, go for it.

More time for lunch? Sounds good to me!

The point of making a work-from-home routine is to make your life easier, not harder.

So if there are things in my routine that you can't or don't want to do, no problem! Just don't do them.

I hope that this blog post inspires you to create your own work-from-home routine.

One that you love!

Change is a good thing!

Every once in a while, I'll change one of my routines.

Life throws things at you that you don't expect, so that means your routines should be flexible enough to handle them when they come.

All of my routines throughout my day have changed in some way or another.

I find that embracing it is best!

My Morning Routine

Remember that you don't have to do everything I do!

Do what works best for you when making your own morning routine before starting work!

My mornings start early

I wake up at 6 AM every morning.

And you know what? I've been doing this for a long time now and it's still hard to get out of bed that early.

But once I'm up, I feel incredible!

Starting my day early always gives me a positivity and energy boost that isn't there when I sleep in.

Right after I wake up, I get changed and exercise.

Then I eat breakfast and go for a 40-minute walk.

Once I get home I shower and get dressed in something comfortable for work.

Do you know my favourite parts of working from home? I get to wear sweatpants.

It's always a fairly simple morning, but I have chosen these habits to keep me healthy and get me prepped for work.

What is the point of my morning routine?

I sit down a LOT because of my job so putting time aside every morning to be active has been a great addition to my routine.

Also, it gives me time before work to relax and enjoy the day.

Having that breather in the morning where I don't think about work really helps me be better prepared for the day ahead of me.

My Work Routine

I said it once and I'll say it again, I adore working from home.

I don't know about you, but it gives me so much freedom to do what works best for me throughout my work day.

But there are two main things I struggle with when working from home.

  • Problem #1: My house is filled with distractions.

  • Problem #2: I would work until exhaustion.

To fix these problems, I made this work routine to up my overall energy and productivity.

My 9 to 5 work day

A huge mistake I made when I first began working from home in 2022 was not setting hours when I began and ended my work day.

This led to me almost completely burning out, which as an entrepreneur is a big problem.

To fix this, I made work hours.

Simple and to the point, right?

But my burnout issue wasn't completely solved with that.

Taking both long and short breaks

Throughout the day, I always take multiple breaks.

And I'm not saying I open my phone and scroll for 2 minutes.

I get up and away from my workspace.

For my shorter breaks, I take 5-10 minutes to grab a snack, play a video game, read, make tea, stretch, get some fresh air, pretty much anything I can do in a short span of time that completely takes my brain off work.

I only take one long break in the day and that's at lunch.

It's around 1 to 2 hours where I make lunch, put on a TV show, and eat.

Taking breaks has seriously helped me maintain my energy levels, even when it's getting later in the day.

It also lets me handle my distractions better because I now have time where I can do them.

They almost never interfere with my work thanks to this!

My workspace

I have a desk that I can work at whenever I want, but I often change things up and work in different places around the house.

It really depends on what I'm feeling in the morning.

The kitchen table and couch are my go-to's when I don't feel like working at a desk.

But every once in a while I go and work at a coffee shop for the day.

My Night Routine

The first routine I ever started was my night routine.

It snowballed from there into the multiple routines I have throughout my day, but this is the original.

Surprisingly, it has stayed pretty much the same since the beginning.

Here are the things I do in my night routine.

  • Happiness journal

  • Pray

  • Read

  • Wash my face

  • Change into pj's

I don't like to have a massive routine at the end of the day since I'm tired and really just want to jump into bed.

To me, the less, the better.
